Some songs never stop evolving.

They simply find a different dancefloor.

DISCO-8 began with a simple idea: revisit fourteen songs from across the AION8 catalog through the lens of disco. Not as remixes, but as complete reinterpretations.

The first collection looked backward.

Every song was rebuilt in a classic vintage disco style, faithfully recreating the sound of another era. The results were technically successful, but something felt missing. The songs no longer sounded like themselves.

So the entire project was set aside.

When work resumed, the goal changed. Instead of recreating disco, the songs would borrow its spirit while remaining connected to their original identity.

That is why this collection is called A Disco Adjacent Collection.

It is not a tribute to disco.

It is fourteen familiar songs discovering a new way to move.

🎶 The music

These songs are familiar, yet they arrive wearing entirely new clothes.

They remember where they came from without trying to return.

The Rising Trilogy

  • Moving On (DISCO-8 Version)
  • Chasing Highs (DISCO-8 Version)
  • We Own the Night (DISCO-8 Version)

These three songs have always shared a common direction.

They look forward.

Moving On (DISCO-8 Version) transforms farewell into momentum.

Chasing Highs (DISCO-8 Version) keeps reaching upward, celebrating possibility more than arrival.

We Own the Night (DISCO-8 Version) closes the trilogy with confidence, reminding us that some nights are remembered because we chose to be fully present.

Together, they become a celebration of motion, optimism, and the next chapter.

The Sunwave Descent

  • Quiet Paradise (DISCO-8 Version)
  • Moments Between Us (DISCO-8 Version)
  • One Last Day (DISCO-8 Version)
  • Miles Away (DISCO-8 Version)

This collection turns inward.

Quiet Paradise (DISCO-8 Version) finds stillness.

Moments Between Us (DISCO-8 Version) lingers in closeness.

One Last Day (DISCO-8 Version) carries quiet acceptance.

Miles Away (DISCO-8 Version) lets distance become reflection instead of absence.

These songs remind us that movement is not always forward.

Sometimes it is inward.

The Standalone Signals

  • Thank You for Coming (DISCO-8 Version)
  • Tell Me About Last Night (DISCO-8 Version)
  • Smiles and Beats (DISCO-8 Version)

These songs never belonged to a larger series.

Each tells its own story.

Together they become moments of celebration, conversation, and connection, united not by chronology but by their willingness to become something new.

They stand on their own, while still finding a place within the collection.

The Original Four

  • One Rule (DISCO-8 Version)
  • IKMW (DISCO-8 Version)
  • C.O.L.O.R.S. 2.0.2.6. (DISCO-8 Version)
  • Center Stage (DISCO-8 Version)

Everything began here.

These were the first four songs released by AION8, and they continue to shape every new reinterpretation.

Whenever a new collection begins, they are often the first songs revisited, not because they need to change, but because they continue to reveal new possibilities.

They are the foundation of the catalog, seen here from another perspective.

🪩Why “Disco Adjacent”?

This collection almost became something very different.

An earlier version faithfully recreated the sound of classic disco from beginning to end. After completing all fourteen tracks, I realized I had succeeded in recreating the style, but lost part of what made these songs feel like AION8.

Starting over became the better choice.

Rather than chasing authenticity to another decade, the new versions were built to carry the original songs into a modern context while preserving the pieces that made each one worth revisiting.

The result lives beside disco, not inside it.

🗣️ Artist insight

“I thought this project would be about disco. It turned out to be about identity.

After finishing the first version, I realized I had recreated another era instead of reimagining my own music. Starting over wasn’t easy, but it gave these songs the freedom to become something new without forgetting where they started.

That’s what ‘disco adjacent’ means to me. Close enough to celebrate the genre, but still unmistakably AION8.”
